What you will do
This role is responsible for the maintenance, upgrades, and repair of all IT systems and infrastructure, including network hardware/software/connectivity, client workstations, and all other items connected to EMPACT-owned area networks. This role reports to and will work closely with the Vice President of Technology to design and deploy IT solutions. This position will also communicate with external partners and vendors to coordinate purchases, requisitions, repairs, etc. This role is a member of the Technology & Innovation (T&I) department and will be expected to work with other departments and team members to support various developmental efforts.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and keeping up to date all network and server equipment (firewall, NAS, switches, cabling, etc.)
- Supporting end users by troubleshooting and resolving workstation issues related to operating systems, software, hardware, accounts, connections, and other aspects
- Ensuring the security and privacy of EMPACT network systems and connected devices
- Monitor SIEM (security information and event management) system and respond to potential threats to ensure proper alignment with policies, protocols, and compliance frameworks
- Perform routine access audits of EMPACT systems and users
- Defining the specifications and purchasing of new computer systems and hardware
- Maintaining up-to-date logs and records of company-owned devices
- Providing limited support outside of normal business hours to remediate emergency situations that may arise
- Performing onboarding and offboarding of company employees in various systems
- Guiding and coordinating with junior IT staff to support efforts listed above
What you will bring
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field is required
- A master’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field is recommended
- A minimum of six (6) years of professional experience working in IT-related positions supporting end users and/or network infrastructure is required
- Certifications that are recommended but not required upon hiring are as follows: CompTIA (Net+ or Sec+), Cisco (CCNP or CCNA), Lean Six-Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), PMP, AWS (Cloud Practitioner or Associate Cloud Solutions Architect). Upon hiring, must get certified in CompTIA Net+ (or equivalent) AND at least AWS Cloud Practitioner within six (6) months of hire date (company paid)
- Interpersonal skills, technical communication, Windows and Mac operating systems, network troubleshooting, network security, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, basic batch scripting, and AWS (specifically EC2, S3, and Route 53)
