This 5.2-mile three-phase reconductoring project upgraded an existing line from #1/0 ACSR to #336 AAC, enhancing system capacity and performance while incorporating multiple TXDOT crossings and associated permitting requirements.
To support the client’s schedule and maintain project momentum, the work was divided into three segments, allowing completed sections to be delivered while remaining portions were still in progress. This phased approach provided early value and improved overall project efficiency.
EMPACT Engineering provided full-service support, including system design, engineering analysis, and development of all deliverables in accordance with client specifications and NESC standards. Our team also led project management efforts—maintaining clear communication, responding to client needs, and implementing design updates as the project progressed from design into construction.
Field coordination was driven by an in-house field services division, which completed all inventory and supported the design process. Regular coordination with field crews established clear expectations for scope and data collection. This consistent communication and hands-on involvement ensured alignment between engineering and field execution, setting the foundation for successful project delivery.
